Save yourself some time (and money), switch to Mac
July 23rd, 2008
How much time have you spent fixing stuff on your PC? I know I’ve spent a lot, fixing my computer, but also to help family and friends. However this has changed a year ago…
The other day, my brother asked me to help him fixing his PC. It’s not the first time he calls, and I know it won’t be the last. He’s always had trouble with his PCs. And he’s not the only one unfortunately…
There are a lot of forums dedicated to PC/Windows support. There are also a good amount of Linux support. That, I can understand since Linux is community-driven, and always being developed and updated, it’s normal that people share their issues. How about Macs? As far as I know, such forums for Mac support are a lot less.
Since I bought my MacBook last year, I’ve never had any major issue, never had to format my hard drive to clean the system and get better performance, never defragmented (no need to), never installed an antivirus (no need to), neither an antispyware (no need to)… To sum it up, I’ve almost had no issues. The only ones I got were fixed by simply rebooting the system.
For more than 10 years, I used to format my PC twice a year. Why? Because it used to slow down with time. I won’t go into details now, but this is due to the Windows architecture. Linux and Mac OS X work better, this is a fact.
Fixing issues takes time, and who likes spending time repairing stuff? I don’t. If you don’t spend time, you’ll spend money. And this is where it gets interesting. If you buy a PC because it is cheaper than a Mac, then waste time and spend money to fix problems on it, is it still worth it?
My advice, from someone who’s spent way too much time (and sometimes money) repairing computers: leave Windows, and SWITCH TO MAC!
